Have you heard the buzz about the Edmonton55 Downsizing Challenge? Now is the time to join in as we just started it today!
If you are planning to age in place – then preparing your home to be able to safely get around and be able to access the things you need. When you plan to age in place, you need to ensure your home has space for a walker or wheelchair if needed, so make the room while you are healthy and well.
If you are planning to move sometime in the future, then this downsizing challenge is about eliminating the stuff so your future move can be easier. Whether you are moving to a smaller home, retirement living or just moving across country – you don’t want to pay movers to move stuff you are just going to throw out as you unpack it…so do the work now.
WHO IS THIS CHALLENGE FOR?
Anyone who feels they have some downsizing to do. Whether you feel you have too much stuff or you just know you need to start downsizing for future moves. Many of my clients want to age in place in their home and this downsizing challenge will make it easier for them to manage in their home. Whatever your reason, your age, your stage in life – the downsizing challenge is for you!
WHAT AM I COMMITTING TO WITH THIS CHALLENGE?
Once a week, you will receive an email with your challenge to focus on for that week. All you need is an email address so you can be on the list to get a new challenge every 7 days. The rest is up to you – there is no score card, no one is checking in on you. This is about you being accountable to yourself to work and complete this 24 week challenge.
What this challenge WILL NOT DO is fully address your basement or garage – as those are often really large spaces that take quite a bit of time. However, every week there will be a small challenge focused on your basement, your garage or both – that will slowly get you on your way to tackling those spaces a little easier.
HOW DOES THIS CHALLENGE WORK?
However you want it to work! You see, I have clients that are committing to 15 minutes every day, I have clients that are picking a couple 1/2 hour times in a week, and I have other clients committing to one day a week to get the challenge done. There is no right or wrong way, so do what works best for you to keep on track and get the challenge done that week. To keep on track, you have to commit to do the work!
You can save the emails to refer back to, you can save the worksheets on your computer or you can print out the worksheets – whatever makes it easiest for you to keep your focus on the tasks and keep working towards getting them done.
Just remember, if you have a bad week, don’t get it all done or just had too much stuff to get through, you can always come back to that area in the future when you have more time.
WHEN IS THIS CHALLENGE RUNNING?
This challenge is now ongoing – meaning you can join at any time. Once you join, and confirm your email address, within an hour you will receive your first challenge. Then you should receive a challenge every 7 days for 24 weeks. So start whenever you are ready to start. There is no cost to join.
